Good Reads – Comics to read over your kid’s shoulder (part 1)

A Tale as Tall as Jacob by Samantha Edwards

I wanted to make a couple of graphic novel recommendations for y’all as I’ve been recently exposed to some gooders through my son, who’s burning through the public library’s solid-but-meagre collection at an alarming rate.

The options for kids’ comics nowadays is so much better than when I was three rungs short of a ladder and many of the books he picks up are great for readers of any age. These are great books all around and I wanted to share them here for you and to promote deserving works/authors.

A Tale as Tall as Jacob by Samantha Edwards:

I wasn’t sure my son was going to get into this one because it’s a pseudo-nonfictional work about a sister growing up with a brother with ADHD and 100% shy on robots or wizards. He devoured it in less than a day, is on his second read, and I crushed it in about as much time. It’s approachable, incredibly relatable, funny and may be even more enjoyable for adults than kids.

Pick it up at the library or at one of them book stores.
